Ten questions to consider when reading one of my books in your book club.

  1. What was your initial impression of the mystery presented in the novel, and did it change by the end? Why or why not?

  2. How does the author build suspense throughout the novel? Can you identify any techniques or specific moments that heightened the tension?

  3. Were you able to predict the resolution of the mystery before it was revealed? What clues did the author provide, and were any red herrings thrown in to mislead the reader?

  4. How do the settings of the novel contribute to the overall mood and mystery?

  5. Discuss the protagonist’s approach to solving the mystery. What strengths and weaknesses did she display?

  6. How does the author weave in themes beyond the central mystery (e.g., social commentary, moral dilemmas, human nature)?

  7. Were there any moments or aspects of the story that you found particularly surprising or unpredictable?

  8. How do the relationships between characters influence the progression of the mystery?

  9. In what ways does the author challenge or adhere to the conventions of the mystery genre?

  10. How does this novel stand on its own while contributing to the larger narrative in the Cache Iron Mystery Series?
